Alan Keith Black passed away unexpectedly at his home in Coalville, Utah on June 25, 2021, at the age of 68.
He was born July 25, 1952 to Keith and Rea Dawn Black, along with his two siblings: Ray (Terry) and Glen (Gena). They grew up together in Coalville, Utah where they all attended school together. Alan excelled in many sports including basketball, football, track, and rodeo.
He married Julie Black 43 years ago on February 25, 1978. Together, they had two children, Lance (Karli) Black, Brett Black and one amazing grandchild, Karson Black, who was Alan’s pride and joy. Alan’s passion for sports continued during his life through his children and grandchild in basketball, baseball, and golf.
Alan graduated from North Summit High School and went on to work at Geary Construction for 32 years. After leaving Geary’s, he went to work for Hill Air Force Base Test and Training Range for the past 8 years, where he retired in November 2020. He was looking forward to his retirement, spending time with his wife and family, traveling to Las Vegas, Wendover, Karson’s baseball games, but most of all sharing his love and creating memories with his “Honey Bucket,” Julie.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Keith & Rea Dawn Black, his father-in-law Larry Peterson, and sister-in-law Christine Peterson.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on July 1, 2021 at the Summit County Ledges Event Center. Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:45 p.m. at the Summit County Ledges Event Center, 202 Park Rd, Coalville, Utah.
Interment will be at the Coalville City Cemetery.
