Alma Toone

July 6, 1932 — April 22, 2008

Almie, as she was known by most, was taken from us on April 22, 2008.

She was born in 1932 in Riverton, Wyoming to Elrey and Hazel Forbus Dungan and was raised on a ranch in Shioni, Wyoming. She loved horses, especially her white Arabian "Little Boy." She became a Rodeo Queen and champion barrel racer.

During high school she was very active in student council, cheerleading and Jobs Daughters, where she was an Honored Queen.

At the age of 19, she met and married Gene McFarland in Casper, Wyoming and became an oil-fielder's wife. Together they had three daughters and were together 28 years.

She was always active in her daughters' lives from Brownies to Girl Scouts to each becoming Honored Queen in Jobs Daughters.

In 1980, Almie met and married Sherm B. Toone. They lived in Croydon, Utah where they built a home and raised their horses. She was also very active in AA, helping those who needed her help.

Almie loved the outdoors for all its beauty and wonder; and she was a collector of animals of all kinds - they were her soul mates throughout her life. She loved to walk with nature, picking up small gifts she called "treasures".

She believed strongly in the "Golden Rule" a" "Treat others as you would like to be treated." "Live one day at a time, for that is all we are given and we are grateful for it."

She's telling us now, "Goodbye my darling, I'll see you again. Don't mourn me, celebrate my life; because I did it my way."

Almie is survived by her husband, Sherm B. Toone of Croydon, UT; daughters: Toni Rogosch of Las Vegas, NV; Teri Charest of Valley Center, CA; Betsi Magee, of Vernal, UT; a sister, Konnee Rae Fisher of Rapid City, So. Dakota; uncles and aunts: Bob and Stella Berlin of Pasadena, CA; Ed and Corrin Berlin of Whittier, CA.

Also surviving are step-children, Brad Toone, Gary Toone, Tami Lott, Troy Toone, and Jennifer Durrant; 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, UT. Friends and family may call at the mortuary from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
