Althea Richins

February 13, 1924 — January 6, 2017

Amy Althea Ferguson Richins, 92, passed away peacefully Friday, January 6, 2017 at Family Tree Assisted Living in Morgan, Utah.  Althea was born February, 13, 1924 to Elvernon Ferguson Sr. and Eloise Viola Coult in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She married H. LaMont Richins of Henefer, Utah, October 11, 1944 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 28, 1945.

Althea loved her family, friends, and socializing.  She volunteered many years as a Pink Lady at the Cottonwood Hospital, participated on bowling leagues, member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, served as Relief Society President for seven years and held other callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Althea received awards for her stitchery and crochet work.  She loved to garden, read, grow orchids, and put puzzles together.  She used any reason to socialize with friends.

She is survived by four children, Kary (Kathy) Richins, Ann (Charles) Bickmore, Julie (Laird) Severinsen, Gene (Linda) Richins, eleven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren with one more on the way any moment.  Preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the Henefer LDS Chapel, 708 North Main Street, Henefer, Utah.  A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 11, 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the church and prior to the Thursday Service 10:00–10:45 a.m.  Interment at the Henefer City Cemetery.
