Avena Lucy Lowe, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 21, 2010, in her home in Green River, Wyoming.
Avena was born Jan. 17, 1936 in Brigham City, Utah to Donald and Eneva Saunders. She graduated from Weber High School in North Ogden in 1953. After graduation she married the love of her life Paul Douglas Lowe in Elko Nevada on August 31, 1954 and together they had five wonderful children. They lived for a time in Morgan, Utah and have spent the last 36 years in Green River, Wyoming.
Avena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved crafting and painting, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family and her 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren as well as having a good time with her many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Jeff Lowe.
She is survived by her loving husband Paul; two sons: Guy (Sherrie) Lowe of Lyman Wyo; Steve Lowe of Evanston, Wyo; two daughters: Paula (Mike) Musbach of Green River, Wyo; Brenda (Bob) Torres of Green River, Wyo; three brothers: DeVar (Jean) Saunders, CA; Val (Akami) Saunders, Wyo; Dennis (Laurie) Saunders, UT; three sisters: Darlene Beard of Idaho; Joyce (Guy) Hall of Utah; and Elona (Roger) Shields. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 45 West 200 North, Morgan, Utah. Friends and family may call on Thursday March 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at Walker Mortuary.
