Barbara Blonquist Pace 1932-2008

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, nana and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 28, 2008, at her home in Hoytsville, surrounded by her family. She passed away unexpectedly after an eight month battle with Cushing's disease.

Barbara was born March 19, 1932 in Coalville, Utah, the daughter of William Vern and Barbara Morby Blonquist. She graduated from North Summit High School where she participated in cheerleading, band and various sports. She married her high school sweetheart, George LaMar Pace on Sept. 1, 1950 in the Logan Temple. She participated in slow and fast pitch softball and enjoyed watching her posterity in all sports. She was an avid Jazz and Brave fan and she never missed a game of her children or grandchildren. She was an accomplished bowler of the Morgan, Heber and Salt Lake leagues and enjoyed participating in the National Tournaments. She was a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church where she held various callings and was the Ward organist for numerous years.

She is survived by her husband, LaMar, and children: Jerry (Karen) Pace, Kerry (Deanna) Pace, Trina (Kenny) Mitchell, Max (Donna) Pace and Milleson (Darren) Gibbs; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Glen Blonquist. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Blonquist.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 4 at noon at the Hoytsville Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call at the church Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Hoytsville Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wain Allen, Jeanette Vernon and staff for the loving kindness shown to our mother. A special thanks to her granddaughter (nurse) Tammy Georgi for her determined effort in mom's behalf.
