Ben Lane, of Morgan, passed away on October 22 at the age of 43. Ben was born on October 27, 1977, to John A. Lane and Cheryl A. Altman in Mountain View, California. He attended school at Morgan High School and Weber State University.
Ben’s role as Father to Grace, Elli, and Max was his most cherished one and his love for his children was boundless. In 2016 Ben married the love of his life and childhood friend, Eiko Espiritu, sharing his children with her and kicking off a life that brought many adventures during their five cherished years.
Ben was always happy and was deeply proud of his children and cherished sharing his love of the outdoors with them through camping, boating, hunting, skiing, mountain biking, golfing, and most of all coaching soccer and watching not only his children but his nieces and nephews from the sidelines. Ben was an outstanding and loving mentor, coach, leader, friend, son and brother.
Ben will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. He is survived by his wife, Eiko Lane. Children Grace, Elli, and Max. Parents John and Cheryl Lane. Siblings Todd Lane (JoAnn), Toby Lane (Sherrie), Johnny Lane, Steve Lane (Katie), and Jimmy Lane (Julie). Nieces and Nephews Britni, Emily (Christian), Jenny (Porter), Madison, Connor, Garret, Olivia, Berklee, Tad, Randy, Aubree, Marlee, Charlie, Sonya, Avery, and Mikey.
Ben truly loved being a part of a large family, cherished the large family camping and hunting trips that would often mark his birthday, could be counted on to get a game going, and was always the first person to offer a helping hand. Like every Lane brother, he’d make fun of you but in a way that still left you feeling good afterward, maybe it was because of Ben’s unique laugh that made everyone around laugh right along with him.
