Betty Hackney

Betty Lou (Grotte) Hackney return to her Heavenly Father on July 12, 2022.  She was born May 6, 1930 in Clouge, Minnesota to Lucille Achenbach and Harold Grotte.  She grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota and graduated in 1948.  Betty met the love of her life, Harding Roosevelt Hackney, in 1950.  After a whirlwind courtship, they married one week later.  His work took them to many states.  They finally settled in her beloved Mountain Green, Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Betty and Harding were sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple.  Betty loved all of her callings – but her passion was Primary where she served for 14 years.

Surviving her are five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, her parents, daughter Linda, and stepson Gary.

A graveside services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 9 a.m. at the Mountain Green Cemetery
