Billy Stokes
September 25, 1938 — April 4, 2011
William Alfred "Billy" Stokes, born September 25, 1938 in Chalk Creek, Utah. He is the son of William Jessop Stokes and Selma Laurine Larson. He died on April 4, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Billy was an active member of the LDS Church where he served several calling along with a mission. Billy also served over 40 years with the Summit County Sheriff's Office and the Search and Rescue. He also retired from Holcim Devils Slide Cement Plant.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Alex Prescott.
Billy is survived by his children: Steve (Tressa) Stokes; Susie (Troy) Prescott, and four grandchildren: Whit and Stephanie Stokes and Kayden and Jackson Prescott, brother Bob Stokes and sister Shirley Hicken.
A viewing will be held on April 8, 2011 at the Coalville Stake Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and April 9 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 12 noon.
Interment will be in the Coalville Cemetery.
