Morgan

Our beloved husband, father and Poppy, Chad Arthur Green, 76, of Morgan, Utah, passed away at home on August 13, 2024, surrounded by family. Born on September 18, 1947, to A. L. Green and Erma Ann Fisher Green. Chad was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Chad grew up in Salt Lake City alongside his older sister, Di-Ann (Green) Riches. He had many fond memories of his childhood including hunting, fishing and showing horses with his Dad. He also spent much of his life at the beloved family homestead near Vernon, UT.

Chad married Deona Jackson on August 13, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they shared many happy years. They raised three wonderful children: Shane, Travis, and Shawnee. Chad was a proud grandfather (aka Poppy) and great-grandfather. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Chad was known for his dedication to his family and his work. His career spanned various roles, and he loved working hard and solving challenging problems. He loved teaching those traits to his children and grandchildren by example and precept.

One of the most cherished periods of Chad's life was his church mission to Nauvoo. His time in Nauvoo was marked by a deepening of his faith and a commitment to serving others. He often spoke fondly of the experiences and lessons learned during this mission, which became a cornerstone of his spiritual journey and influenced his approach to life and family.

Chad served in many different callings in the church, some of his favorites include: Elders Quorum Teacher, Executive Secretary, Elders Quorum President, Scoutmaster, and Temple Worker.

Chad's life was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew him. He had a special knack for storytelling, often recounting his childhood adventures, family traditions, and the lessons he learned from his parents.

Chad will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Erma. He is survived by his loving wife, Deona; his children, Shane (Shalaine), Travis (JoAnn), and Shawnee (Ryan) Hoffmann; his sister, Di-Ann (Bob) Riches; ten grandchildren, Nikkelle (Dalan) Judd, Porter (Rachel), Ryder (Morgan), Kaitlyn (Matthew) Mitchell, Kinyon (Victoria), Cheyenne, Ethan Hoffmann, Ben Hoffmann, Will Hoffmann, and Mary; and six great-grandchildren with one on the way.
