HENEFER - Charles Wayne Fox, Sr., 1928 a" 2010, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully with his family at his side on November 7, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He was 82.
Charles was born on September 10, 1928 in Dacoma, Oklahoma to Lot and Eudora Vandruff Fox. He met Geraldine Wood while hospitalized at Fort Chafee, Arkansas after being seriously injured in a jeep accident while serving in the Korean War, and they were married June 22, 1952. He soon joined the LDS church and was baptized in the Arkansas River. They were sealed to each other and their first two children, Charles Wayne Jr, and Emma Margene, in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1957, shortly after Leslie Lynn was born.
A hard worker, the family moved to Denver, Colorado when called to help build a new chapel on Tufts Ave. and later to Castle Rock to build a branch meeting house. During most of his career he was a home contractor in Denver. After moving to Henefer, Utah in 1975 he continued building homes in Salt Lake and Roy. His real love was sharing time with his beloved wife, following their 11 grandchildren to countless activities from little league through high school. He was adored by his 17 great-grandchildren and family activities saw him constantly playing and teasing all of them. He loved taking pictures of sunsets and windmills, playing golf, and working with wood. He spent many hours in his workshop creating countless holiday decorations for their home and Christmas gifts for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Geraldine of Henefer, son Wayne (Marsha) Fox of Draper, daughter Margene Blonquist of Draper, daughter Leslie (Larry) Jones of Henefer, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one brother, Harry Fox of Capron, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Dorothy, Ada, Richard, Mary Jane, and his disabled brother John, whom he cared for after their mother passed away for 19 years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Henefer Chapel. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
