MORGAN - On March 19, 2017 Clara, 90, united into the arms of her loving sweetheart Howard. She’s been excitedly waiting for this day when they could be together again.
Clara was born March 5, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Jonas John Matt and Hattie Rose Williams Matt. She was the youngest with 3 older brothers; Earl, Henry (Red), Clinton, and 1 sister Dorothy Matt Whelan.
Clara’s best childhood memories were living on the farm. She often told of the pigs she had saved and rose. She loved hanging out with her dad and brothers. She was an outside kinda girl.
She met Howard Price on a blind date set up by her close and dear friend Liz. It was love at first sight for Howard and Clara. They were married March 27, 1946 and were together until his death in May 2010. They had 3 daughters Diana, Sherry and Vickie. They lived in Missouri where Howard built their first house. They later moved to Hawthorne, Calif. in 1957. In 1984 they moved to Utah to be by their daughters Diana and Vickie. They loved traveling so they bought a motor home and became ‘snow birds’. For several winters they traveled to Arizona or Florida and developed several lasting friendships.
After several years their home in Morgan became too much for them to take care of so they built a home in Preston, Idaho where they lived until Howard’s death.
She then moved to Providence, Utah to be closer to her daughter Diana. Later in 2012 she moved to her youngest daughter’s home in Morgan to live with her family. She loved all the activity with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. They sure loved being with her.
Clara started seeing the missionaries in 2014 and was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in September 2014.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Jonas and Hattie, 2 brothers, Earl and Henry (Red), 1 sister Dorothy and many cousins and friends.
She is survived by her daughters; Diana (Ken), Sherry (Jim), Vickie (Ray), 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and her brother Clinton.
