Clarke Lucas
MORGAN - Clark Maiben Lucas was born in Devil's Slide, Utah on November 13, 1910 to Amos Edward Lucas and Victoria Clarke Lucas.
He attended school in Devil's Slide, Salt Lake City and graduated from LDS High School in 1929.
Clark married Dorthy Bell Curran in Ogden, Utah on October 5, 1957. She died on June 14, 1992.
He worked for the Ideal Cement Company for 24 years and for Hill Air Force Base for 23 years. He was a charter member of Local Union #101, Cement, Lime, and Gypsum Workers. Clark was a First Union Secretary, Secretary of International Cement Workers, Salt Lake City in 1946. He served two years as Vice-President of the Ogden Trades and Labor. He represented Union negotiations to the War Labor Board in disputes and during the construction of the new cement plant.
Clark was a member of F.O.E #2472 in Ogden for 42 years. He was a member of the LDS Church. He represented Morgan County on the National Ski Patrol during WWII. Clark loved the outdoors and was a fly-fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, roller-skating, playing tennis, and gardening. He like to watch all kinds of sports.
He is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, brother-in-law and wife.
Clark is survived by several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy House for Clarke's care this past year.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan. Friends and family may call at the mortuary, Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, South Morgan Cemetery.
