Colleen Barth

December 21, 1929 — June 29, 2010

Eva Colleen Jensen Barth passed away on June 29, 2010 at the age of 80. She was born at home in Milton, Utah on December 21, 1929, to Eva Mary Varney and Lincoln Martin Jensen.

She graduated from Morgan High School and attended Utah State University studying Home Economics where she met her husband Richard Lee Barth. They were married August 25, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple by Spencer W. Kimball.

Moving many times as an Army wife, she lived in Japan, Alaska, New York City and traveled to all 50 states. Her love of our country was great. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed genealogy and sharing stories and histories of her ancestors.

Colleen had a great love for all people and tried to help and serve them. She loved music; played the clarinet, piano and taught piano wherever she lived. As first chair clarinet, she won many competitions. Multi-talented, she taught Tole painting, was a past member of the Ogden City Library Development Board, volunteered at H. Guy Elementary School and loved to cook for her family.

Her love of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was great and she served in many capacities.

She is survived by her children Roger (Gayle) Barth, Farmington, Utah, Sharon (Daniel) Jensen, South Ogden, Utah, Elaine (Corey) Christensen, Perry, Utah, Jay (Connie) Barth, Orem, Utah. And a son-in-law, Lynn Paskett, West Point, Utah. Brothers-in-law CH and Neal Barth. She has 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, daughters Marjory Paskett and Evelyn Barth, 1 great granddaughter, her parents and brother Larry Jensen.

The family would like to thank the members of the Skyline Branch, Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Vista Hospice for their loving care and concern.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Stake Center, 5640 South 850 East, South Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Pleasant Valley Stake Center, Friday, July 2 from 6 to 8 and from Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will be at Milton Cemetery in Milton, Utah
