In the early morning hours of Friday November 9, 2007 mom left this earthly existence to be with her loving husband.
Colleen was born on June 27, 1929 to Thomas Black and LaVell Rawlins Black. She grew up in Coalville and graduated from North Summit High School. On September 2, 1948 she married the love of her life Clinton Arlynn Larson and together they raised three daughters and one son.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held positions in all the organizations of the church. Mom and Dad served as temple workers in both the Ogden and Mesa Temples and enjoyed serving in the House of the Lord together.
She had a beautiful voice and always shared it with others. She loved being a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed participating in the meetings. Some of her greatest joys in life were visiting others, quilting, genealogy and being with her family. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and shared it often.
She is survived by her daughters; Susan and Alan Crittenden, Nelda and Vaughn Staples, MaryAnn and Richard Monson, her brother DeVon and Fay Black, her sister Jeanine and Gary Mitiguy, 2 sisters-in-law Rayma and Shirley, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, her son Russell Kale, her parents, 3 brothers Grant, Keith and Dean, and 2 granddaughters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Coalville Stake Center. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the stake center and Tuesday morning prior to the services from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will be at the Wanship Cemetery.
We would like to thank the staff at "Our House" in Riverton for their loving care of our mother.
