Darwin E. Shaw, master craftsman, born December 8, 1931, died May 19, 2012 at his home in Coalville, Utah. Even while struggling with COPD and CHF he was cheerful, uncomplaining, and willing to help others. His good deeds, woodworks, metal works, and inventions will be remembered by family, friends, and neighbors.
Darwin liked hunting, fishing, and family reunions. He liked Utah, but he loved Wyoming. He worked for and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Darwin was thankful for all the visits from his hospice care staff who were so caring and thoughtful.
He is survived by his children: Ronald (Brooke) Shaw, Jill (Ed) Drury, Suzanne (Curtis) Hall. Grandchildren: Hilary (Zac) Cheney, Jenny (Dan) Herzog, Stacey Shaw, Brandon (Stacy) Hall, Luke Shaw. Great grandchildren: Bridger and Carson Cheney, Sidney, Sawyer, and Caroline Herzog. Siblings Renee (George Earl) Bennett, Keith Shaw. Preceded in death by parents Myrtle Bowen and Ronald Earl Shaw, daughter-in-law Caralyn Staheli Shaw.
We will be celebrating Darwin's life with a graveside service May 26, 10:00 a.m. at the Coalville City Cemetery. Instead of flowers or cards, Darwin would love us to pay his good deeds forward to others who may need help. Special thanks from Darwin's children to George and Renee for the never ending love, support, and vigilant care they gave Dad in his last months.
