Our loving Dad and Grandpa, David Helaman Gold, 78, was reunited with his sweetheart Mary Sue Gold on August 27, 2020. In his last days, he was surrounded by his five children and their families, including his 19 grandchildren at his home in Morgan, Utah.
Dave was one of a kind; truly a mountain of a man both physically and spiritually, born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 17, 1941, the son of Helaman and Louise Gold. He was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple to Mary Sue Richards on September 4, 1968.
From a young age, he developed a love of animals and the outdoors. He loved raising horses and sheep with his wife and children. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking pictures of nature and animals. He always loved driving across Montana and discovering new places with anyone that would hop in with him, especially his grandkids. His influence will be remembered by countless scouts and youth involved in 4-H, FFA, and high school rodeo.
Dave will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his contagious laugh and smile. He was known to greet you with the question “Are you smiling?”, and to leave you with a, “Appreciate Ya”.
Dave served a successful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the West Central States Mission from 1961-1963 and in the Eccles Park area alongside his wife. He served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ including: Bishop, Scout Leader, High Priest Group Leader, and Primary Teacher.
Dave is survived by his 5 children and 19 grandchildren: Jennifer (Chad) Brown, Sarah (Quinn) Tucker, Phillip (Natoshia) Gold, Sharon (Tyler) Roath, and Aaron (Kara) Gold.
