Dawn Carter

March 19, 1960 — November 1, 2008

Dawn Ellen Dawson Carter returned home to her heavenly father's loving arms on November 1, 2008, after a ten month battle with leukemia.

She was born March 19, 1960 to Max A. Dawson and Betty Jean Smith Dawson in Kalamazoo, MI. Dawn was the second of three children and grew up in Henefer, UT, and attended the North Summit schools.

She met her 1st husband James Lester and they had a son Michael. They later divorced and she moved to Morgan after meeting Delwin Carter. They married and had a daughter Kodi Lynn Carter and was also Mom to two step-daughters, Tina Ellen and Dusty Dawn for 17 years. Delwin and Dawn later divorced, but remained friends.

She was a loving, caring mother to her own children and was called Mom by many. She was later blessed with three grandchildren that meant the world to her; Kayden James Hendricks (10), Faith Michael Hendricks (3) and Kira Shawn Hendricks Jensen (1).

She is survived her parents Max A. and Betty Jean Dawson, her children Michael Carter (Amanda Kilbourn), Kodi Hendricks (Mark Jensen), a sister Terry (George Sweet), and brother Andy (JoyLyn) Dawson.

In her 48 years on this earth she touched many lives and will be missed by all. On behalf of the family, we would like to extend a very special thank you to the many staff at The Huntsman Cancer Institute, the University of Utah Medical Center and Manor Care of Ogden for their help and support with her fight against leukemia.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Morgan Stake Center (White Church) on Friday November 7, 2008 from 5pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Huntsman and Manor Care in the name of Dawn Ellen Carter at the First National Bank of Morgan.
