Della Eddington

May 3, 1919 — July 13, 2016

Della Roper Eddington, 97, passed away July 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born May 3, 1919 in Thatcher, Idaho to Orrin and Pearlin Roper.  She married LaVain Ross Eddington in 1946 and later divorced.

She grew up learning hard work by being raised on a farm and later living on a ranch.  Della worked at the Ogden Arsenal and later retired from DDO in 1984.  She was an active member of the Senior Citizens for 30 years.  She was also a cancer survivor for 29 years.  Her pride and joy were her grandkids, great grandkids, her yard and her garden, sharing what she grew with many in the community.

Della leaves behind 3 sons, Jerry (Trudy) Eddington, BerDean Eddington and David (Susan) Eddington.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her siblings.

A special thanks to all her friends and neighbors who helped throughout the years, especially the close friends who checked in and visited with her regularly and the Meals-On-Wheels gals who spent time talking with her each day.

A small funeral service will be held Monday, July 18, 2016 at 1 pm at Della’s home in the yard she adored.   Friends and family may gather at her home one hour prior to the services.  She will be laid to rest at the South Morgan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to any Heart or Cancer Foundation.
