Dennis G. Kelley MORGAN a�" Dennis Galland Kelley, 68, returned to his Father in Heaven Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Mckay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, following a tragic accident.

Dennis was born April 30, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Andrew William and LaVerne Galland Kelley. He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake and attended LDS Business College. He married his high school sweetheart, Valerie Rosa Greenfield, on September 7, 1962. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Morgan Utah Stake, Morgan 4th Ward. He fulfilled many ward and stake callings, and at the time of his death was the stake auditor.

During his life Dennis was President of the Utah Gladiolus Society, Utah Dahlia Society and Utah Associated Garden Clubs. Dennis has always been involved in the floral and gardening fields. He worked as groundskeeper for Temple Square and Shriner's Hospital, and was head gardener for Governor's Clyde and Rampton and head groundskeeper for Prows-Wood, Inc.

Dennis and his family moved to Morgan and ran High Valley Turf farm and opened Val's Flowers, where he continued to work until the time of his death. He was very active in community affairs, serving as President of the Morgan Business Association as well as Chairman of the Morgan County Fair Board, and head groundskeeper at the county fairgrounds. He always gave freely of his time to the community. Dennis was an avid gardener, photographer and fisherman. He was also very active in the scouting program, earning the Mount Ogden District Award of Merit in April of 2007. Dennis was also awarded the Governor's Volunteer Award in 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie; Morgan, son Curt; Morgan, and daughter Teresa (Lee) Perry; Kaysville. Four grandchildren: Ciera, Chandler, Tristan, and Jaxon, all of Kaysville. He is also survived by one brother, Grant Kelley; West Valley and two sisters, Jeanette (Tim) Bell; West Valley, Pam Kelley; New Mexico and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommie, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan Stake Center, 355 North 700 East, Morgan, Utah. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the North Morgan Cemetery.
