Donna Faye Porter passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah from kidney failure. She was born August 29, 1940 in Coalville, Utah to Harvey and Faye Porter. She spent her youth at Devil’s Slide, Utah and when her father retired, moved to Henefer. She later moved to Trinity Mission Wide Horizon care Center in Ogden where she found a second loving family and happily spent the rest of her life. She attended DTSI (Developmental Training Systems Inc.) where she again found a loving environment and gained new friends.
She loved music and dreamed of being in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. When she was young her sisters and she formed a trio. They sang at family events and performed several times on a radio talent show in Salt Lake City. She loved to read to herself and anyone who would listen as she amassed a huge collection of all kinds of Braille books.
Donna is survived by her brothers, Larry and Allen along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Faye Porter and sisters, Barbara (Dale) Mountz and Peggy (Warren) Jones.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 12 noon at the Henefer, Utah LDS Church. A public viewing will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at the church and on Monday prior to the services from 10:45 to 11:45 am. Interment will be held at North Morgan Cemetery.
