Warren “Dwayne” Robinson

Warren “Dwayne” Robinson passed away at the Central Utah Valley Veterans home in Payson, Utah July 4, 2015. He was born June 7, 1931 in Coalville, Utah to Warren and Leora Rolfe Robinson. He graduated from North Summit High School in 1949.

Dwayne worked many jobs throughout his life and operated a small farm which he seemed to enjoy the most. He served on the Coalville City Council.

He served in the Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict from Dec 4, 1951 to Dec 1, 1953. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/2 Stars and the United Nations Services Medal. On April 23, 2015 he received the Ambassador of Peace Medal and was honored by the government of the Republic of Korea.

Survived by his sister Phyllis DeWeese, Nephews – Jim (Deb) Robinson, Rex (Brenda) Robinson, Mike (Coni) Robinson, Wes (Kellie) Robinson, Jody Robinson, Kip (Irene) DeWeese, Zane (Barbie) DeWeese,     Nieces – Sherry (Clair) King, Kathryn (Alan) Zimmerman, Elizabeth Stephens, Robin (Mike) Judd, Niki (Jeff) Sargent, and many great nieces and nephews.  Preceded in Death by his Parents Warren and Leora Robinson, brother Ernie Robinson, Sister-in law Utahna Robinson, brother in-law Harold DeWeese and multiple great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Central Utah Valley Veteran’s Home, the doctors, nurses and aides for their care of Dwayne for the past year. They planned many activities and celebrations for the veterans to be involved with and always treated Dwayne with respect and thanked him for his service to our country. We appreciate their compassion at his passing.

Graveside services and military honors will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Coalville Cemetery.  Friends and family may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
