Elaine Sheppick Largent

February 14, 1934 — March 29, 2024

Morgan

Elaine Sheppick Largent, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away March 29, 2024 at the age of 90. Born on February 14, 1934, in South Jordan, UT, to Floyd and Minola Sheppick. Elaine was the eldest of three daughters, with sisters Arlene and Gay.

Elaine met her husband, Emmer Theodore Largent (Ted), when she started writing letters to him during his service as a Marine in the Korean Conflict. They were married November 17, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Their marriage blessed them with five children: Steven, Floyd, Trudy, Cindy, and Sheila. Elaine raised her children with nurturing patience and love.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elaine served in many callings and enjoyed leading the music in church. Elaine loved studying the scriptures and doing family history work, including indexing.

Elaine and Ted worked together on their family farm raising mink and Limousine Cattle. Elaine pursued many hobbies, leaving her family with many handmade quilts, blankets, dolls, ceramics, embroidery, and a large record of memories in photo albums.

Elaine's home was a warm and welcoming place for her grandchildren. She was a source of support to them. She was always attending their events, cheering them on, and ready to make her famous honey and peanut butter sandwiches.

Elaine is survived by her daughters Trudy, Cindy (Paul), and Sheila, daughter-in-law Lisa, sister, Arlene (Jay), brother in-law Clyde, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren with another on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted, sons Steven and Floyd, and sister, Gay.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5 at 11am, at the Milton Church 1255 N. Morgan Valley Drive. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9 to 10:30 am at the church.  Interment will be at the Milton Cemetery.
