Ellarie Matthews

Morgan - Ellarie Carter Matthews, 90, died Sept. 13, 2008 in Ogden, Utah. She was born July 8, 1918 in Porterville, Utah to Thomas S. and Mabel Porter Carter.
On February 4, 1937, she married Dale C. Matthews. He died March 10, 1988.
Ellarie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings. Her life was dedicated to raising and serving her family. She especially enjoyed genealogy and journals.
Surviving are three sons: Kent (Renae) Matthews, Porterville; Steven (Danna) Matthews, Ogden; Gary (Doreen) Matthews, Roy; 15 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: June Orrock, Ogden; and Jean McPherson, St. George.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Darrell and Chris; six brothers and five sisters.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the South Morgan Cemetery. Friends and family may attend a viewing that morning at Walker Mortuary in Morgan from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
