Ervin T Truman, 91, passed away in his sleep from natural causes on August 4, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he lived for the last three years with his daughter after the passing of his wife.
He was born August 2, 1920, in Enterprise, Utah, where he attended elementary and high school. He married Doris May Wagner February 23, 1946, in Inglewood, CA. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple on March 20, 1954. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, Jacob Thomas and Emily Hall Truman; and siblings, Howard Truman, Melvin Truman, Preston Truman, and Reva Emett.
He is survived by his siblings, Leola Terry, Glade Truman, William Truman, Pauline Bowler, and Richard Truman; his children, Carl (Margaret) Truman, Bruce (Claudette) Truman, Dean (Elizabeth) Truman, Nancy (Doug) Dowding, Russell (Kathy) Truman, Betty (Michael) Hassell, and Brian (Jana) Truman; 27 grand children and 49 great grand children.
Ervin served in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He served in many church callings including Bishop in Enterprise. He was well known as a superior homebuilder; having either built or added on to most of the homes in Enterprise. He had a sharp wit, and loved the outdoors; especially hunting and hiking.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Enterprise Cemetery. There will be a viewing for family and friends Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Enterprise Stake Center.
