"Gone Riding"
Floyd Calvin Stevens, son, brother, uncle and friend, was born on January 13, 1949 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Ethel W. McQueen and Calvin Austin Stevens. He left for a long horse ride on March 29, 2010 at his home in Hoytsville.
Floyd graduated from North Summit High School and attended Orem Technical College where he perfected his trade of welding. He served his country for two years in Korea. His adventure of river guiding in the Grand Canyon left fond memories. He was happiest when he was horseback, either team roping, riding in the hills, working cattle or on the desert. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Ethel and his brothers and sisters: Brenda (Steve) Adams; Bonnie Stevens; Janet (Scott) Moore; Louis (Annette) Stevens; Dixie (Roy) Dixon; Kenny (Deanna) McQueen; Scott (Carolyn) McQueen. Also 18 nieces and nephews.
A dear friend "Kray" will miss him. Thanks for all you did for him.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life from noon to 1 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Coalville on Friday, April 2, 2010.
Bring a memory of Floyd instead of flowers or donate to a charity of your choice.
