Gary Phillip Gorder, devoted husband , father and grandfather, formerly of Morgan, died on April 26, 2008 due to complications from multiple sclerosis, surrounded by his family at his home in Clinton UT.
Gary was born in Morgan, Utah on May 13, 1942 to Andrew Phillip and Lola Eggleston Gorder. He graduated from Morgan High School and completed two years at Weber State University. He later joined the Navy and served from 1962 to 1964. Gary had two years of active duty, 22 years of Navy reserve and 20 years civil service at Hill Field.
In May of 1965 he married Sharlene Hardman. Gary served on the Sunset Police Reserve for 1970 to 1980, Sunset Fire Department, Morgan Fire Department and Morgan County Search and Rescue. He also worked 19 years at Holy Cross and Ogden Regional Hospital as a security officer.
Surviving are his wife Sharlene, two sons: Brett (Wendy) Gorder, Richfield, UT; and Shane (Cherise) Gorder, Clearfield, UT; six grandchildren, two brothers: Gail (Marcile) Gorder; Dee (Karen) Gorder; sister, Cuma(Steve) Kendall.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Milton Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
