Gaylene Evans

July 23, 1943 — November 29, 2021

Morgan

Our wonderful, loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma, passed away peacefully November 29th, at her home in Morgan.  She was surrounded by her family, which was exactly what she wanted.

On July 23, 1943, she was the 3rd of 4 beautiful daughters born to Reed Welsh and Alice Mable Horsefield Welsh. She grew up in Morgan and graduated from Morgan High. She attended Weber State and received her degree in Cosmetology.

She met and later married her first love, Mark H. Evans on December 19, 1964.  They shared 57 wonderful years together. They were blessed with 2 children; Kimberly Evans and Travis Reed Evans. They also have 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She was very creative, artistic and an amazing cook. She enjoyed gardening, making beautiful flower arrangements, decorations and cakes. The times spent with family were her most cherished moments. She loved to GO!  She was anywhere her kids and grandkids were.  She traveled to many tournaments, meets, performances and ceremonies to show her support.

She is survived by her husband Mark, daughter Kimberly (Jeff), son Travis, grandchildren Kylie Chanel (Tanner), Kendall Cambree, Tyrel Reed, Kenyon and Cache Mark, Great-grandson Jax Mark, sisters; Renae Evans, Deann Hodgson and Lugene Porter, Sister-in-laws ; Susanne, Margaret, Joyce and Leslie (Kevin) nieces, nephews and numerous others that considered her Mom/Grandma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, granddaughter Sabryn Jade Sommers and all but one of her brother-in-laws.

A special thanks to Terra Rockenfield and the Morgan Health Center, as well as Corey and Taylor from Encompass for their care and support.

A graveside service will be held on December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the South Morgan Cemetery.
