Georgia Marlene Mikesell

Porterville

Georgia was born to William Mark and LeEttia Belle Rhoades Price in Council Bluffs, IA on November 10, 1935. She passed away on April 5, 2023 at home from causes associated with AML, in Porterville Utah.

Georgia married Gerald Mikesell on November 18, 1953 in Morgan, Utah. She was baptized into the LDS faith at the age of 18 by her husband Gerald. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1965. They had been married for 63 years at the time of Gerald’s passing.

She spent her childhood in Iowa and attended schools there. Moved to Utah in 1964, where she attended schools in Ogden. She worked for Rock’s Café, DDO, Browning Arms, Weber State College, a housekeeper for 15 years, Steph’s Drive Inn and Roger’s Foods Market, retiring in 1995.

She loved making donuts, cooking, crochet, plastic canvas, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles of any kind, and decorating cakes of all types. She hand made items and baked many goodies for family and friends. Her specialty was her red velvet cake and shrimp dip. Her love was fishing, camping, family dinners, and feeding anyone who walked through the door and was hungry.

Georgia was a devoted member of the BPW. She served in many capacities and recruited many ladies. She especially enjoyed traveling to the BPW state activities. She was a 4-H leader. A Red Cross leader for Morgan. She was a care giver to many of the elderly, including her mother-in-law, father-in-law, and mother. When there was a need she was always ready and willing to help. Her stamina was never ending.

She served many years, in the LDS Church as a primary teacher, Relief Society teacher and counselor and a dedicated visiting teacher from the age of 24. She and Gerald served LDS mission’s to Martin’s Cove for 2 summers, Ogden Temple workers for 5 ½ years, and served as Stake and Ward Missionaries.

Georgia is survived by her 3 children: Rosemary (Glenn) Eberle, Pleasant View; G. Eugene (Julie), West Haven, and Tom (Ron) Littleton, CO. 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death, her husband, parents & stepfather’s Paul Deuel and Harold Gardner; in-laws, Sam & Virginia Mikesell; granddaughter Heather Jacobson; great grandson Keanne Bunting; brothers: Robert Price & Cecil Rhoades; and 2 sisters.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 6 to 8 at Walker Mortuary, Morgan, UT. There will be a viewing prior to the services on April 11, 2023, from 10:45 to 11:45, at the W. Porterville Church in Porterville, UT with funeral service to follow at 12 pm. Interment will be at the South Morgan Cemetery, Morgan, UT under the direction of Walker Mortuary.
