Gerald Buhler

July 11, 1935 — September 23, 2007

Gerald Horne Buhler

On Sunday, September 23, 2007, our beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather returned with honor to his Heavenly Father after a lingering illness.

Gerald Horne Buhler was born July 11, 1935 in Hailey, Idaho to Harold Burdette and Wilma Frances Horne Buhler. He married Raquel Hinckley on November 22, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised six children, and helped raise 19 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The happiest times in his life were spent surrounded by the Buhler Herd, and he especially enjoyed following his grandchildren in their various sporting events.

In 1962 he began his life's passion, teaching the gospel in seminary classes at various locations around the western United States. He was privileged to continue in this activity until 1980. Although he held many church positions through the years, teaching was always his favorite.

In his later years he became an avid bowler, and for the last 10 years of his life he owned and operated the Bowler's Friend Pro Shop at Olympus Hills Lanes in Millcreek.

Survived by his mother, Wilma; his wife, Raquel; his six children Jerilyn Buhler, Kelly (Doug) Paskett, Jacki (Don) Vernon, Keith Buhler, Sherilyn (Marc) Giauque and Karl (Stacey) Buhler; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and brothers Keith (Jennette) Buhler and Bil (Cathy) Buhler.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the MS Society of Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 2007 at 11 a.m. in the West Jordan 27 ward, 2666 W. 7000 S. West Jordan. Friends and family may call at the church Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Henefer Cemetery.

Funeral directors Walker Mortuary Morgan and Coalville. Utah.
