HENEFER – Geraldine Elesteen Wood Fox, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on March 26, 2014 . She was 79. Geri was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Eugene and Hettie Flaherty Wood on October 18, 1934. While working in the Army Hospital in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas she met Charles Fox who had been seriously injured in a jeep accident, and they were married June 22, 1952. He soon joined the LDS church and they were sealed to each other and their first two children, Charles Wayne Jr, and Emma Margene, in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1957. Shortly after Leslie Lynn was born.
The family moved to Denver, Colorado when called to help build a new chapel on Tufts Ave. and later to Castle Rock to build a branch meeting house. She was a homemaker as well as secretary for her husbands construction company. They moved to Henefer, Utah in 1975. Geri’s real love was sharing time with her beloved husband, following their 11 grandchildren to countless activities from little league through high school. She was adored by her 23 great-grandchildren who loved visiting her. Holidays were always a treat at her house where boxes of decorations where unpacked and arranged for each holiday season.
She is survived by her son Wayne (Marsha) Fox of Draper, daughter Margene Blonquist of Draper, daughter Leslie (Larry) Jones of Henefer, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, her brother Dana Wood, and two of her sisters, Margaret Inglet and Emma Richins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, her sister Francis Martin and brother Raymond Wood.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 12 noon at the Henefer LDS Church. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at the church and Monday from 10:45 to 11:45 prior to the services.
Interment will be held in the Henefer Cemetery.
