Gordon Smith

On September 4, 2021, Gordon Keith Smith 78, of Morgan, Utah, joined his wife, Linda, for eternity.

Gordon was born on Sept. 2, 1943 in Ogden, Utah, to Archie and Mary Smith. He graduated from Morgan High in 1961.  Gordon served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norway. He attended Weber College and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Visual Arts. Gordon loved his country and proudly served in the US Army. He graduated from basic training at Fort Ord in 1968 and then attended army intelligence training. He married Linda Crawford in the Ogden Utah Temple in 1975.

Gordon constructed homes and was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He also enjoyed working as a substitute teacher and volunteering for the Morgan High Track Team. He was an active member of the American Legion. He enjoyed teaching youth about the flag and military service.

Hunting, fishing, and gardening were Gordon’s passions. His faith in his Heavenly Father was the foundation of his life. He was an example of service. He helped others with construction projects and generously shared fish and vegetables.

Gordon loved spending time outdoors. He hunted and fished with his brothers and family. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved planning parties and surprises for them.

Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents; an infant brother; an infant daughter, Caroline; his brother, Kent Smith; and his sister, Linda Turner. He is survived by his daughters Kathryn and Jennifer and his grandchildren, Ali, Walter and Kate.

A viewing will be held on September 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the Morgan LDS Rock Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment at the South Morgan Cemetery.
