Gwen (Murphy) Aimo peacefully left this earth on October 25, 2013 surrounded by her family. She died as she lived; with patience, grace, and fortitude.
She was born in Vernal, Utah, on October 23, 1961 to Robert K and Mary Ann McConkie Murphy. Gwen was the youngest of three daughters. She was raised in the Reno-Carson City, Nevada area and moved with her family to Ogden in 1977. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Stevens-Henager School of Business in Ogden. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, laboring faithfully in the Indiana, Terre Haute Mission.
She met Joseph Ray Aimo in 1982 while he was stationed at Hill Air Force base, assigned to the 34th Tactical Fighter Squadron, flying the F-16. They were married on June 23, 1984, in the Ogden LDS Temple. Always an active, devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in many positions. She cared for her husband and three children with unwavering patience, kindness and diligence.
She is survived by her husband, Joe, three children, Joseph, Marie and Adam, two grandchildren, her parents, Robert and Mary Ann Murphy, and two sisters, Valorie (Van) Bohman of Las Vegas and JoAnn (David) Whiteley of Madison Heights, VA.
Funeral services will be held on October 30th at 12:00 noon at 2700 South Morgan Valley Drive, Morgan, Utah (Porterville Chapel). A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MDA in Gwen's name.
Burial will follow at the South Morgan Cemetery.
