Hal (Oop) Adams Orton, 55, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 of a brain aneurysm. He was born April 21, 1954, the fifth child and son of Harold W. and Fern Adams Orton.
He graduated from Morgan High School in 1972. While in High School, he was active in drama. He was very big-hearted and had many friends. He loved his animals a�" from his mule to all the dogs he had. He worked for the iron workers union out of Salt Lake City in Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California.
Hal is survived by his daughter, Tangela (John) Gilbert of Surprise, Arizona; three grandchildren: Hope, Courtney and Josiah. Also surviving are his father, Harold (Marco) Orton of Morgan, Utah; and seven brothers and sisters: Carol (Bruce) Tonks of Morgan; Joan (Nolan) Wynn of Julian, California; Jean (Charles) Lezala of Waukesha, Wisconsin; Lynn (Bryan) Boyce, Debbie (Ted) Wardell, Jeff Orton, all of Morgan; Joe (Lori) Orton of Elwood, Utah; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hal's mother, Fern, passed away when he was only ten months old. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, O'Keath and Hattie Adams; and Joseph and Myrtle Orton.
Hal had a giving spirit; even in death his organs were donated to help others.
Friends and family may call Monday, Sept. 28, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan. A Memorial Service will start at 4 p.m.
Interment will be in the Kaysville Cemetery at a later date.
