Ida Vialpando Peterson

On Wednesday May 17^th 2023, Ida V Peterson passed away surrounded by her family at McKay Hospital in Ogden, UT.

Mom was born in San Luis, CO to Ben Vialpando and Bea Haas.

She being the youngest with four older brothers.

She met and married the love of her life Wayne E Peterson. They were married in Elko, NV November 16^th 1960. Together they raised three children in Morgan. She was so very proud of each one of them. Ida and Wayne were married for 28 years before Wayne passed away.

Ida worked for Browning Arms in Mt. Green as a mail clerk for 37 years. She spent many summers at the Browning swimming pool with her kids. A must have at the pool was chocolate licorice and circus peanuts. During that time mom was on the cover of the Browning magazine for the bicycle edition.  She made lifelong friends while working there.

Ida loved spending time with Wayne, her family and friends camping and boating at East Canyon, Bear Lake and Lake Powell.

Ida moved her mother in with her in September of 1997 and took such great care of her until her passing in August of 2012

Ida was on the woman’s bowling league for many years, and the woman’s golf association. She loved to play bunco, she belonged to the Red Hatters and enjoyed her countless shopping trips and dinner dates with her friends that she referred to as the Magnificent Seven.

She was knowns as grandma Ida to all the neighborhood kids.

Ida is survived by her brother Leo Vialpando, her children, Dennis (Yan) Peterson of Morgan, Gary (Tricia) Peterson of Farr West, Tammy (Bob) Johnson of Roy. She has 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with 1 on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne, parents Ben and Bea, brothers Ben, Victor and Emilio.

A visitation will be held on May 24, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Walker Mortuary and a graveside service on May 25, 2023 at 11 am at the South Morgan Cemetery.
