Iris Harbertson
January 17, 1919 — March 9, 2011
Elsie Iris Cope Harbertson, 92, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Halesowen, Birmingham, England to Ashton Cope and Florence Shilvock Cope. The eldest of eight children, she immigrated to the United States in 1926 and became a naturalized citizen.
She married Don Leroy Harbertson August 10, 1938 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1948. They resided in Mountain Green, Utah. Iris was a professional decorator and seamstress as well as an accomplished quilter.
She is survived by her beloved husband; brothers: Richard Cope and Lynn Cope; two sons: Lane A. Harbertson, DDS and Noal C. Harbertson, Ph.D.; six grandchildren: David N. Harbertson, Ann Hall, Dr. Lara N. Durna, Diane Wisbeck, Dr. Judith Harbertson, Dr. James F. Harbertson; and eight great grandchildren (with another due in April) who reside in California, Maryland and Washington States.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Mountain Green Cemetery.
