PETERSON – Jean Holbrook Bohman, 95, passed peacefully into eternity at her home on Saturday June 7, 2014. She was born October 8, 1918 to Joseph Franklin and Nancy Catherine Burt Holbrook in Ely, Nevada. She married her sweetheart Wilson Dale Bohman on May 2, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; He passed away on July 1, 2007.
Jean grew up on her father’s ranch in Metropolis, Nevada and graduated from Metropolis High School. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated from Hollywood Beauty School in Ogden, Utah.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has a strong Testimony of the Gospel and Plan of Salvation. She served in the Primary Organization for 30 years and loved working with the children, especially the three year olds, but her favorite calling was playing the piano. The piano was one of her greatest life-long loves along with gardening, cooking for her family and making quilts.
Jean is survived by her children, D Frank (Linda) Bohman, San Antonio, TX; V Fred (Jane) Bohman, Aiken, SC; Gary H (Alane) Bohman, W Bountiful, UT; Burt P Bohman, Peterson, UT; Catherine Bohman Atwater, Orem, UT; W Gene (Adriana) Bohman, Rigby, ID; Suzanne (Brad) Nistler, Lynn Haven, FL; and Annette (Mark) Dicou, South Salt Lake, UT. She is also survived by 31 Grandchildren, 85 Great Grandchildren, and a Great-Great Granddaughter; which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, her brother and one grandchild Daniel B Bohman.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses Jill and Tiffany of Applegate Home Care and Hospice for their kind and gentle care. The family would also like to give a special thanks to our brother, Burt, who gave such tender care to our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother so she could live out the rest of her life in the comfort of her own home as she wished.
Funeral Services will be held Monday June 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Morgan Utah North Stake Center at 2755 W Old Hwy Rd, Morgan, UT. (I-84 exit 96 then turn left and go until the yield sign and turn right on Old Hwy Rd) Family and Friends may call at the Stake Center Sunday evening, June 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Peterson Cemetery.
