Joan Conrad

March 28, 1944 — January 3, 2023

Milton

Our loving Wife, Mother, and Grandma Joan V Conrad, 78 returned to her Father in Heaven on January 3, 2023. Joan was born in Sacramento California to John VanOrden and Ruth Virginia Benn. At the age of 4 Joan and her older Brother Johnny were placed in Foster Care because of difficult times with their Parents. Shortly thereafter they were thankfully brought to Utah by her Paternal Grandparents and Joan was raised by her Aunt Nelda Jones with her cousins Kathy and Allen Pogue.

After graduating from Bonneville High School where she was an excellent student and member of the drill team, Joan married Neil Cunningham and welcomed a son, Ronald. A divorce occurred and soon afterward Joan met William Conrad, the Love of her Life, at HAFB where they both worked. They married and Joan embraced Bill’s daughter Judy and together they had a son David. Family was always very important to Joan and she worked hard to make each member of her family feel loved and special. She spent much time and energy creating events to celebrate members of her family. She made every effort to support her Grandchildren by attending their activities. She was their biggest cheerleader. Joan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved her callings in the scouts, and as a Relief Society and Sunday School Teacher. She spent many hours studying and learning to make her lessons interesting and memorable.

Joan worked tirelessly for the United States Post Office as a Mail Carrier for 23 years. After her retirement, she kept on working in sales and was an Avon Team Manager.

Joan was always up to try new things like square Dancing, being a camp host with Bill, and learning to crochet special gifts for family members. She loved to serve her Husband Bill and she adored her grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her Husband William Conrad, Son Ron (AnnMaree) Conrad, Stepson - inlaw Randy Haws and daughter in law Jennifer Conrad and 12 grandchildren, 3 (almost 4) Great grandsons

Joan was preceded in Death by her parents, her Step Daughter Judy Haws, and her son David Conrad.
