JoAnn Potter

JoAnn Potter, 83, of Morgan passed away peacefully on April 5, 2018. She was born on September 11, 1934 in Olympia, WA. to Alex Leroy Rasmussen and Pearl Marie Sciuchetti Rasmussen.  She married her high school sweetheart, Sterling Potter on January 28, 1955.  They were married for 62 years.

Known for her strength and hard work, JoAnn accomplished so much in her life. She was very thoughtful and generous, and she loved caring for and raising animals. She had a green thumb, as was evidenced by her beautiful flower gardens.

JoAnn was a skilled softball player, and a real athlete. She played catcher for the Utah Shamrocks, and later coached a ladies’ softball team. She loved to bowl and was on a local bowling league for many years.  She also rode in the Miltanas Riding Club where she performed in fairs and parades.

JoAnn loved her six grandkids and was their biggest cheerleader as they all vividly remember her yelling and whistling from the stands and supporting them through their lives. She will also be remembered by her 14 great-grandchildren.

JoAnn is survived by her two children, Carrie (Randy) Cox, and Randy (Nancy) Potter of Morgan, and one brother, Lee Rasmussen.  She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brother and sister.

A viewing will be held at Walker Mortuary, Tuesday, April 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in the North Morgan Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary.
