Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully in her home in Henefer, Utah on January 19, 2020 at the age of 84. She was born to John H. & Ellen L. Dearden in Henefer, Utah on March 6, 1935. She was the younger of two children. She graduated from North Summit High School as the years Valedictorian. She was married to her eternal companion Ralph T. Ovard in the Salt Lake City Latter-Day Saint Temple on June 17, 1955. They are the parents of five children. Marva Richins (James), Gary Ovard (Trudy), Jerry Ovard (Sheila), Melissa Clark, and Chad Ovard (Jodee). They have 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mom loved to sew, knit, cross-stitch and crochet things for herself and her family. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren in whatever they were involved in. Mom worked hard all her life and took care of her parents and her family. She also worked for Summit County as a District Court Clerk. She had many great friends and enjoyed their friendships. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many church callings with her favorite being the Organist for the Henefer Ward and later the Henefer 1st Ward. Mom was willing to help anyone wherever she could.
She is survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law (Everett and LaNae Ovard). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother (Vaughn), two sisters-in-law (Ruby Moore and Afton Dearden) and one brother-in-law (Vern Moore).
We would like to thank Cory Ann from Encompass and Jeanette Vernon for their deep compassion and help during these last few days of her life. Also, our community for their love and support during this time.
