JUNE BROWN

JUNE STEWART BROWN passed away in Morgan, Utah, on Sunday, the 1st day of November 2009, at the age of 91.

June was born June 24, 1918, in Jensen, Utah, to Rebecca Yeager and Erie Francis Stewart, the second of three children - Percy, June and George.

June enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Jensen where she boated, swam, ice-skated and fished in the family lake with her father and brothers.

She married Bernard Manford "Red" Stewart in Craig, Colorado, on October 15, 1936. They had three children, Barbara, James and Edward. They lived and worked in Jensen and Vernal and later lived for three years in Tucson, Arizona, where they went for Red's health. Red died on November 3, 1962.

June married Newel K. Brown on December 1, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She became step-mother to Dennis (Lorraine) Brown, Terry (Hatty) Brown, Bruce (Robin) Brown, all of the Salt Lake City area, Utah, and Carol (Jan) Fullmer of Mesa, Arizona. June and Newel traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. They enjoyed living in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the summer months and in Mesa, Arizona, in the winter months. Newel died May 10, 1997, in Salt Lake City, Utah. June then moved to Wickenburg, Arizona, to be near her son Jim and his family.

June was a wonderful seamstress making many of her own clothes as well as clothes for her daughter and granddaughter. She worked for many years for Fashion Fabrics. She also did beautiful embroidery work and made needlepoint chairs and pictures for family members. She was a great cook and enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards and games.

June is survived by a brother, George (Luleen) Stewart of Mesquite, Nevada; a son James (Kathy) Stewart of Wickenburg, Arizona; a son Edward (Carol) of Morgan, Utah; a sister-in-law, Virginia (Mary) Morrow of Kalispell, Montana; Dennis (Lorraine) of Sandy, Utah, Bruce (Robin) of Draper, Utah, and Terry (Hatty) Brown of Centerville, Utah; Carol (Jan) Fullmer of Mesa, Arizona; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Bernard Manford "Red" Stewart; her second husband, Newel K. Brown; brother Percy Stewart; sister-in-law, Erma Stewart; daughter, Barbara Tucker; and grandson, Tony Tucker.

There will be a viewing at the Thomson Blackburn Mortuary 15 E 100 N in Vernal, Utah on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at 11am to 12 noon followed by a graveside service at the Jensen Cemetery at 1 pm.
