June Hennefer

June passed away peacefully August 17, 2011.

June was born April 28, 1920 to William Lawrence and Blanche Davis Cox at their home in Henefer, Utah. She married Heber Lehi Hennefer May 8, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She attended Henefer Elementary and graduated from North Summit High School.

June was an active member of the Henefer LDS 2nd Ward. She faithfully served as a counselor in the Presidency of the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women. She was teacher and chorister in all the church organizations. She sang in the choir and was a choir director. She received her Golden Gleaner Award.

June was a lifelong member of the Henefer Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was proud of her and Lehi's pioneer heritage. June completed an extensive genealogy on her and Lehi's ancestry.

June was blessed with a remarkable memory and a real sense of history. She had a talent for relating stories that would have otherwise been forgotten. June had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to laugh.

June loved all things beautiful, especially flowers and music. She was talented in all needlework and loved to quilt and crochet. June prepared a Book of Remembrance for her children and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter: DeLayne Hennefer, Bullhead City, AZ; Dennis (Brenda) Hennefer, Henefer, UT; Nancy Clark, Bullhead City, AZ; Eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and son-in-law Lynn.

A viewing will be held Sunday, August 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, August 22, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Henefer Church with funeral services following at 11 a.m.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciations and thanks to all the staff at Family Tree Assisted Living at Morgan and Alpine Hospice for the warm care given to June.

If anyone chooses in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Henefer Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Camp in June's name.

Interment, Henefer Cemetery.
