Our sweet baby Justess lost her battle with congestive heart problems on July 4, 2008. She touched so many lives during her short stay here on earth; her fight was incredible. Justess had a way of always putting joy in the hearts of all who met her. Grandpa Jay carried her home to our Heavenly Father.
Justess was born to Trudy Lynn Sevy-Cox of Henefer, Utah, and David Bancroft of Ogden, Utah. She was loved dearly by her Grandma Becky Harris-Parker of Henefer who was able to be with Justess during her last moments. Our Just-A-Boo baby girl. I wanted you before you were conceived; I loved you before you were born. I waited 13 years to see you and to have you in my life and hold you in my arms. I only had 11 months to hold you and laugh with you and cuddle you. If only I could hear you say "Mama" one more time. Thank you little angel; you were just too perfect to stay here with us so our Heavenly Father called you home. I feel so lucky you chose me to be your mother on earth. Tears over your departure? NO! I smile; that I got to walk with you for a little while. Justess, every year your departure home will be celebrated by a whole Nation. Just-us you have truly left your handprints on my heart.
Justess was born without sight, but that never stopped her from seeing the world around her. She showed us how to see without the use of our eyes, but with the use of our hearts. She fought a battle that most adults would not be able to endure. She surprised all of us - and the doctors - with the will to live, not expected to live more than a few days. All odds were against her but she held on for so long. She knew she had a mission on earth and she had to complete it first. This mission was clear to all of us; we got the chance to love her. Our arms are light and our hearts are heavy with sadness. The comfort to us now is to know that our sweet baby Justess is in the arm of Heavenly Father and that she has no more pain. We know that our baby will be loved and played with by her dear sweet Grandpa Jay and Aunt Goldie Beth; you might even be spending time with Grandpa Terry.
A special thank you to all the people who came together to help Justess, and the wonderful care she received at the Primary Children Hospital (PICU) Doctors and Nurses. We would also like to thank the Hospice Staff for their part in her care and comfort, and the Team of nurses that came in and worked with Justess. Thanks to Summit County EMTs for coming to her aid numerous times. The family would like to thank the community for all the love and support for Justess during and after the benefit that was held in her honor. Justess will be missed. Until we hold you in our arms again, "Baby Justess" we love you and miss you very much. Thank you for blessing our life "Justess Cooper"!
