Karen Kemp

October 9, 1940 — December 30, 2014

Peterson, UT – Karen Oveida Moss Kemp returned home to her Heavenly Father after a long and courageous battle with many health issues on December 30, 2014 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Kelsey Texas, and moved to Utah at an early age. Karen was sealed to Fred Kemp on August 30, 1963 in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they had four wonderful daughters. She served diligently and faithfully in numerous positions for the LDS church, including the Relief Society presidency, Primary presidency, Sunday School presidency, and Young Woman’s presidency. She also served as a church extraction worker for many years, a calling she thoroughly enjoyed.  Mom had many hobbies but her main passion was doing crafts and spending time with her family.

Karen is survived by her husband, Fred; four daughters: Shelley, Stephanie, Monica, and Tamra; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carol; Brother Jim and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Pearl Moss; brothers Ira and Gary Moss.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Enterprise Stake Center, 2755 West Old Highway Rd. A viewing will be held on Tuesday January 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to funeral services, 11:45am to 12:45 pm at the Enterprise Stake Center. Interment South Morgan Utah Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff from Crestwood Care Center, the staff from Intermountain Health Care, the doctors and staff from McKay Dee Hospital and all the different family and friends who helped care for Mom.
