Karen "Smoky" Pentz died September 13, 2010, due to complications following a long battle with Dementia,
She was born Febuary 17, 1948, in Norfolk, NB, to Harold K and Margaret B Hoien. She was the second of four children.
She grew up in Aurora CO, working at her father's towing company and gas station. She lived in Aurora until she married Wendell I Pentz on July 27, 1969 in Elko NV. They were blessed with two children. Later they divorced but remained good friends. She lived for a long time in Torrington Wy where she lived happily and made many friends.
In 1997 she moved back to Utah and was diagnosed with dementia and had a stroke. She moved to Aspen Care Center in 2000 and spent the remainder of her years there.
She loved to sing and dance and was known for her contagious smile and wit.
We would like to Thank the staff at Aspen Care Center for all of their love and compassion through the years. They treated her with dignity and respect. We appreciate them for all that they do.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both brothers, her sister and her grandson, Cason.
She is leaving behind her son, Justin (Trina) Pentz, daughter, Amanda (Carl) Campbell, ex husband, Wendell (Debbie) Pentz, five grandchildren, Taylor, Nocona, Wyatt, Aubrey, Coby, and many good friends.
A viewing will be held Friday, September, 17, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 18, from 10 to 11a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Morgan, with a graveside service at Milton Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
