Katherine Anna Burkett Atwood returned to her Heavenly Father and a joyous reunion with her loving husband Donald and eldest son Stanley, Friday, November 27, 2009. She was 83.
She was born December 7, 1925 in Aurora, Illinois to Loren A. Burkett and Anna Mary Schwickert. She married Donald Clifton Atwood on April 18, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized and their 4 children were sealed to them on July 22, 1959, in the Manti Temple.
She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1955 and enjoyed serving in many capacities, but she especially loved Family History and even days before her passing, stated that she had more work to do.
She is preceded in death by her husband, eldest son, parents and brother, Everett.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Duane (Amy) Taylorsville, UT; Gregory (Karla) Kaysville, UT; and Donna (Daniel) Thomson, Morgan, UT.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church, 640 N Main St. in Spanish Fork, UT. A viewing will be held one half hour prior to the services.
Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
