Herbert Keith Storey, 86, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family, on June 27, 2017.
Keith was born the oldest child of Ben and Myrle Peck Storey in Ogden, Utah. He grew up in Ogden City and Eden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. Dad met his sweetheart, Shirley Marie Houghton and was married and sealed on November 15, 1951, in the Logan Temple.
Keith and Shirley together raised six children: Robyn (Gordon Cutler), Bruce, David (Pat), Valarie (Perry Raleigh), Aaron (Shaunna), and Tyler (Elsie), and two grandchildren: Carol (Ian Costly), and Josh.
Dad is survived by his six children, 20 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by six sisters: Donna, Sue, Karen, Judy, Mary, Ella, and a sister-in-law Elaine. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his wife - Shirley, two grandsons - Eli and Daniel, a sister - Kay, and brother - Darrell.
Dad was an active member of the LDS church. He was a great scoutmaster. He served in the Ogden, Inner City mission with his wife, Shirley.
Keith was a member of the Utah National Guard for a few years, early in his marriage. He retired from HAFB as a supervisor in the Drafting & Design Department.
Keith was a talented carpenter and craftsman. He designed and built lovely kitchens and cabinets. His artistic wood work included toy cars, motorcycles, trucks, outdoor furniture, and beautiful antique banks. If there was wood around, he was creating something beautiful and making a lot of sawdust.
Mom and Dad were very active in the early square dancing scene where they made many lifelong friends. Square dancing turned into camping trips, motorcycle trips, snowmobiling and many other group adventures.
Dad always had a dog. He considered them as part of the family. He also raised many farm animals and taught his children to love all animals.
Dad loved the Storey Family Reunions and spending time with his family. We will miss him and Mom very much; we know they are dancing together!
Many thanks to Russell from Intermountain Home Health and Hospice, and the many great friends and neighbors of the Enterprise Ward for all of the loving care and service provided.
