Mountain Green - Landon Richard Smith, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend left this earth on July 9, 2010. Landon, 25, was born August 29, 1984 to Gregory and Deborah Smith in Ogden Utah.
He lived most of his life in beautiful Mountain Green, Utah, where he attended Morgan Elementary, Morgan Middle School, and his Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years at Morgan High School. While there he played Little League Football, Soccer, and freshman football for the Morgan Trojans. He enjoyed music and played the trombone in the Middle School band. He sang with Ovation, the show choir, played in a band with friends, and in a vocal group, 4-2 NIGHT. He attended Davis High School where his interest was in drama, theatre, and debate, but ultimately graduated from Woods Cross High School in 2003.
He became involved in musical theatre as he debuted as a Hairy Ishmaelite in Clearfield City's summer production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the age of 9. His other theatrical performances include: Morgan City's Hometown Christmas production of The Nutcracker as the Mouse King and Fritz, Big River as one of Tom's boys, Into The Woods as Jack, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown as Linus for Clearfield City's summer productions. He also entertained us at Roger's Memorial Theatre in Music Man, and in Scrooge as young Ebeneezer, Snow White as the Woodsman, and in the Scarlet Pimpernel as Armand, and other High School productions. Landon loved to entertain and sing. He had a brilliant mind and loved debate, learning and gaming on and off line with his friends.
He was married to Amanda Parker on May 26, 2005 and was later divorced. He is survived by his parents Greg and Debi Smith of Mountain Green; his three brothers, Jedediah William (TomiLee) of Sierra Vista AZ, Logan Gregory (Amanda) of Ogden and Jordan Alexander Smith of Mountain Green; his two sisters, Jessica Smith of Salt Lake City and Lacey (Ryan) Parks of Parker, Co; his four nephews, Evin, Rafe, Sawyer and Finn; and two nieces, Temperance and Sonora who all adored him. He is also survived by his beloved Kat, his heart belongs to you.
Landon's family wishes to express profound thanks to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Morgan County Search and Rescue volunteers, the Utah Search Dogs and their handlers and the Utah Highway Patrol who aided in the search.
A Meet and Greet will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 17, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 am to celebrate his life. The services will be held in the Highlands LDS Chapel in Mountain Green, 5378 West Old Highway Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Morgan Search and Rescue (PO Box 1047, Morgan, Ut. 84050) and the Utah Search Dogs (525 E 300 S. Brigham City, Ut. 84302)
