Lavelle Edgel

Lavelle Edgel died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 77 years of age. Lavelle was born May 24, 1945 to Herman and Jane Edgel. He married MarJean Edgel in 1965. At the time of his death, they had been married 57 years.

Lavelle is survived by his wife MarJean and his two sons: Ike Edgel, and Jed Edgel (Kendra). He has four grandchildren Kailey, Tristin, Braily, and Jaylee Edgel. Also survived by his 3 siblings Karren Olaveson (Jerry), Chris Edgel, and Von Edgel (Lynn), and brother-in-law Lynn Richins (Sherri). Proceeded in death by his brother Jan Edgel.

Lavelle grew up in Hoytsville, Utah where he helped with his family mink ranch and farm. After high school he worked for Deseret Livestock, Chapell Coalmine then went to Utelite Corporation where he retired after 29 years. He was an avid farmer, rancher, gardener and loved sharing his produce with visitors. His passions were hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved to share stories about these adventures with his granddaughters and anyone else who would listen. He always enjoyed his trips out to the desert hunting coyotes and other shenanigans with his good friend Kayo. Lavelle will be missed by his family and the many friends he has made over the years.

Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Ledges Event Center in Coalville, Utah. There will be a visitation before the service starting at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Hoytsville Cemetery.
