Peterson a�" LaVerna Violet Stoney Palmer, 77, died Tuesday September 1, 2009 in Ogden.

She was born March 7, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Remon King and Violet Caroline Grieve Stoney.

On March 16, 1950 she married Arlo Dearden Palmer in Evanston, WY. They were later sealed in the Logan temple in 1958.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife who supported her husband through a long illness. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was especially close to her brothers and sister. She held many positions in the LDS Church, serving mainly in the primary and Young Womens.

LaVerna worked in various businesses in customer services and enjoyed her time at Maverik convenience store.

Surviving are her husband of Tremonton, two sons and one daughter, Marlow (Sandi) Palmer, Clearfield; Rex (Gail) Palmer, Peterson; Lynn (DeLoy) Mecham, Brigham City; 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three siblings, Bill (Dorene) Stoney, John (Sonja) Stoney and Jean (Neil) Thurston.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bert Stoney; a daughter, Ginnie Cragun; and a great grandson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the Milton Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

She will be greatly missed by all.
