Leonard Chris Nicholas, 73, Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend returned to his Heavenly Father on December 12, 2020 from complications of the Coronavirus, with his wife by his side.  He was born March 23, 1947 to Oleen Charles and Wilda Kay Nicholas in Tremonton, Utah.  He grew up in a large family in Honeyville. He loved to say “there were 8 brothers and we all had a sister”. He graduated from Clearfield High School.  He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1970 where he received an honorable discharge. He married Betty Jo Belnap in 1967.  Together they had six children. They were later divorced.  Chris married Debbie Wintle Watrin in 1991 and gained three more children.  Chris was a fireman for 38 years. At the time of his retirement he was serving as Fire Chief at the Utah Test and Training Range. Chris was a ceramic tile contractor for 35 years and was known as a beautiful craftsman. Chris was a friend to everyone and always made you feel special.

His greatest joy is his family.  They loved spending time camping, 4 wheeling, moose watching at their mountain property, Sourdough.  He loved dutch oven cooking, had a beautiful garden and enjoyed doing everything with his family.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served diligently in many different positions, his favorite being a temple worker in the Ogden, UT Temple.  He had a strong and abiding testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his Wife Debbie Wintle Watrin, his children Ryan (Tracie) Nicholas, Darrin (Nikki) Nicholas, Tami (Samuel) Slack, Shea (Kim) Watrin, Sara (Jason) Peterson, Trevor (Jessica) Nicholas, Tresa (David) Crabtree, Steven (Amber) Nicholas and Kyle (Jessica) Watrin.
